How important are endurance charges for a Marauder?

I'm nearing the end of act 1 cruel and still haven't bothered with them and I'm not sure I fully understand them. I'd rather use the points on trying to reach more HP nodes or extra resistance. Will it hurt my build for end game?
Each endurance charge is a flat 5% armour and all resitance, so think how much points you have to spend to get that from passives? And it is quite easy, with Endurance Cry, to get 6-7 of them on you all the time.
Actually it's even better than that: http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Endurance_Charge

Each Endurance Charge grants +5% flat Physical Damage reduction which is much better than 5% armor, in addition to the +5% elemental resistance.

I'm not too experienced with PoE yet, but I'll venture to say that the importance of taking extra endurance nodes depends on your build, and how you want to play your character. If you find yourself at max endurance stacks often, consider how many nodes you would need to spend to reach an extra endurance stack. Many builds take you right next to them anyway. On the other hand, if you're not using Enduring Cry enough to reach max stacks regularly, then it would be pointless to spend passive points on endurance nodes.
Endurance charges are really powerful and I couldn't imagine a single build where you don't grab them. They are all 1-2 points away from every path used by Marauders and in Merciless the difference between having charges and not having charges, even with 6000+ armor is being 1 shot or surviving a hit to escape and pot up.

Enduring Cry and Warlord's mark make it very easy to keep your charges up as you move from pack to pack.
Its pretty hard to make any marauder build that would allow you to get 1 shot killed.

well i went crypt map yesterday with 32% + dmg, got a standard survive passive skillroad (4k hp, 30% armorreduction 70% resists) and guess what i got oneshottet at the first door. I was not standing in the pack iwas in front of them trying to get in groundslamreach. -.- So i guess u need 7-8 endurance charges to survive some shit!
