C'mon GGG, sell us Extra Gore now. Call it Beta if you want. Charge us full price. Improve it later but don't charge us again! I tried the extra gore on both fireball & beartrap but unfortionatly the only additional gore you get is the same as when you just hit an enemy in melee (See the gore screenshots in my first post). It may not 'yet' be in the game, fingers crossed and i'll try again when there is a patch note saying the extra gore is fully implemented. But these are definetly the same effects you get when you score a critical strike. That's what I meant when I said extra gore isn't in yet. The critical hit animation is a place-holder to my knowledge. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever.
