Marauder - Feedback on Groundslam Build - Forum

Hello,

I am a relative newbie to POE and this is my first league. I am using a build from Hvar's Nicebuild list, specifically the Ground Slam marauder as below

Groundslam - Melee Phys - Multistrike - Added Fire - Faster Attacks
Consider Gems such as: Inc Aoe / Conc Effect / End Charge on Stun / Stun Gem
Bandits: OAK - OAK - OAK
Auras: Determ/Hatred/Grace/Herald of Ashe Choose whatever you want out of those 4

I am using the following skill gems - heavy strike, ground slam, sweep with HOA aura. (with supporting gems such as Inc fire damage, end charge on stun etc).

I am not sure how much should I level up my gems as I read somewhere that there are diminishing returns.

Any other advice would also be greatly appreciated.

There are no "diminishing returns" on gems.
They get better, and they get better in a very linear way.
The only reason not to level them up is when you don't meet their stats requirement, and this seems to be the case with your tree...

It has zero Dex and only +20 Int on it. That is not enough!

This means you will not be able to use the following gems:
Faster attacks, conc effect, inc AoE, Hatred, Grace.
...or, you can only use those with massive amounts of added Dex/Int on your gear (good luck on that).

Also the tree you are showing is an ybsolute endgame tree (lvl 92-95 depending on bandits).
I guess you are not that far into the game, right?
(else you wouldn't need advice)
Better show your actual tree and gear.
