Skin Transfer MTX - from 1 handed mace to 1 handed mace... not working
![]() I just tried to apply the skin of a Crystal Sceptre to Mjolner, and got a "The two items must be of the same type" message, despite both being a "one handed mace". I'm not sure if this is supposed to be an actual bug or if there is really an intended distinction between "generic one handed maces" and "one handed sceptres" since they're in two different categories in the wiki? If so, why does this distinction exist, and when will it be removed? Thanks! This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

Indeed - cant apply Brightbeak ( One handed Mace ) skin to Doryani's Catalyst ( One handed Mace ). No matter what the wiki says - there is no in game way to distinguish those. So either they need to be named differently or a skin transfer has to be possible.
I am actually annoyed enough by this that I would even demand a refund if it wasnt so cheap and not worth the hassle. Misleading information ... When Chuck Norris plays PoE masters do his missions

Sceptres and Maces are not the same thing. Doornail's is clearly called a Vaal Sceptre, whereas Brightbeak is a War Hammer.
There is only one Sceptre that does not have the word 'Sceptre' in its name - the Sekhem. The difference exists because they fulfill different roles. Sceptres grant Increased Elemental Damage, Maces do Stun type stuff. This is a distinction that is always visible (unless the impicit is Vaaled, but again, item name). The weapon type is the same. The shop doesnt even say that a skin transfer requires the weapons to be of the same type. Thats misleading information and should be refundable by law in almost any country.
Edit : Furthermore Sword, Mace, Sceptre and Axe are handled equally for other weapon effects ( e.g. sword skins ) - I am no prognosticator to know that they handle it differently for skin transfers.
