Passive tree re-spec question

Simple question is this - My GFs toon havent been played since last update so her passive tree is still in re-spec state. Do i have to slap her points in the passive tree before this new update hits ground or leave as it is and all is good. Main concern is that when she gets back in poe (after new update) she has 1 re-spec available?

If her tree is already reset nothing will happen, if it's not, it will be reset. You don't have to do anything.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

The character will be respec'ed regardless of if it has had skill points allocated as there are significant changes happening to the skill tree.
