Lag and desync is worse than ever lately
I don't know if this post is going to be helpful, but I've been having worse problems with lag and desync in the last couple weeks than I've seen in a year of playing. There seems to be no correlation between where enemies are on-screen and where they are on the server. The only information I can count on is whether there are enemies nearby and which types I'm dealing with. If I'm being hit by something, there is literally nothing I can do except drop a totem and run back in the direction I came from.
I can throw a couple dozen traps and have them land across the screen from the enemy I targeted. Skills that aren't targeted directly at enemies (e.g. mines) are completely unreliable. Enemies constantly rubber-band between my totems and my character, and there's no way to tell whether I've actually been targeted until I'm taking damage. I regularly die without even seeing the enemy's attack animation or the projectile that hit me. I have had rares and bosses one-hit me with melee attacks while I was standing on the other side of a ledge or ravine, with a half a screen between us. I've always had really a really spiky ping, but gameplay was never this bad. Here's my WinMTR log:
