I am still waiting for my answer , also i see that some masters does not worth exchanging gems , since u can sell high ammount of them to players for 1 ex

1. arrange it in intricate shapes and forms in your stash

save it until you get access to items which are usable for crafting (itemlevel 77+) because they can roll all possible mod tiers.

it's a nice and exciting feeling to apply all these alchemy orbs to jewelery from high level maps.
