New to PoE pvp

Hi guys

I've been looking to get into PoE pvp (LLD), but what is the best approach?
Just level a character to 28 or go for a specific easy build at first?
Is the metagame completely dominated by players who can use currency from higher level characters?
How do people find matches? I have never managed to actually find a match on my regular characters.

I'd suggest that you read this amazing guide by fighgarr.

It is going to answer almost all of the questions that you have.

You are very unlikely to find people to fight through regular que. But if you are SC or HC based and message the right people you can get a fight very quickly.

And yes, to have a well working competitive character you would need more than gear that you found while leveling your character to 28.
