Why not just implement an option to automatically /oos every 3-5 seconds?
I mean, people macro it. It's clearly an issue and probably everyone's least favorite part of the game and it's already been said it can't really be fixed (at least completely).
It would be a total bandage over a gaping wound but it's something, yes? And presumably a relatively quick and easy bandage at that? This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

i was thinking exaclty the same thing, tpying a command like /oosingon"5" to /oos autmatically every 5 seconds, and /oosingoff to turn off

Unfortunately forcing a re-sync in this way would actually make matters a lot worse as it would flood the servers and cause even more lag; this is why there is a cooldown on the /oos command.

Force-resyncing while you're doing anything involving movement makes sync worse, not better, because it necessarily interrupts movement.
Hence resyncing is done when you're stunned (which prevents you moving) and when you enter a command, which most people do while not moving much. Putting it on a timer would make things a lot worse. Last edited by Mark_GGG#0000 on Nov 3, 2014, 10:45:14 PM

" Wait, so if I type /remaining it will automatically perform an /oos for me? Or do you mean any chat entry in general, even a message to a friend? |

"No, "a command" was specifically referring to the "/oos" chat command. | |
Ah, darn. What about implementing a keybind option for text (which in this case would be used for /oos)? I haven't played since the previous league so excuse me if I'm forgetting something similar that already exists, but for instance having the function keys (or whatever you want) act as editable "quick-chat" buttons could prove useful or at least be a little quality of life improvement for players aside from the /oos thing.
The way I'm thinking of it is if people are creating macros outside of the game for just a line of text, why not bring it into the game itself as a feature? The game gets more options/features and players don't have to bother with setting up a macro. |
