Curse on hit and shockwave totem

Why doesn't it work ? Blind works even though it has the same wording.

Curse on hit doesn't work with effects you do not cast directly, so no totems, traps, minions or whatnot.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

The question is why. It says "on hit", just like blind.

why do you think? maybe because it was designed by devs like this?

I'm not sure about this because it's not written. As I said, it's the same wording as blind. Even the tooltip says it should work, even though I know tooltips are generally bugged.

It could be like tempest shield, for which they said it should work but currently doesn't.

It's intended, if you could apply multiple curses with a hands-off skill it would be too convenient. I agree that should be suggested in some way, they probably think it's apparent enough.

To recycle Ancestral Bond wording: 'skills you use yourself apply linked curses on hit', or something like that.

Think about the Skill you yourself are casting. Does that Skill hit anything, or does the resultant Totem use a Skill that hits enemies? Which Skill is Curse on Hit linked to?
^ What he said. It curses things you hit with the totem. Unfortunately, you don't hit anything with the totem. You just place it.

It's a trigger gem. It works like all the other trigger gems. If you put a Cast When Damage Taken on your shockwave totem, it doesn't cast when then shockwave totem takes damage. It casts the Shockwave Totem when you take damage.

The wording on Curse on Hit is really poor. Raics suggestion would be muchg better.

It's no wonder these threads are common: every other on hit support gems, such as knockback and blind, works with spells/attacks coming from totems, minions etc.

Sure, Curse on Hit is a trigger gem and that makes it different to those other on-hit supports but Cast on Crit and Cast When Damage Taken both mention that you have to crit/take damage to trigger the their effect while Curse on Hit just says that supported skills have to hit.
