Itemlevel should not be hidden from player

There is no reason why such an important stat like itemlevel shoud be hidden from a player.
Itemlevel should be shown in item stats by default, alongside the level requirement.

It is crucial to know it for crafting, and having to use scripts or retype a command in chat each time you want to view it is ridiculous.

You're giving the wrong impression that item level is hidden. It's not.

However it should be somewhere on the item's display. When you see something in the real world, you can inherently see the quality of the item to some degree.
It doesnt need to be in the item description, it would be fine if it showed in that same little box as it does from chat.

It is hidden.

New players have no way of knowing that it even exists - there is no mention of it anywhere in the game.
To learn about it, they have to stumble upon it in wiki or somewhere else, or someone has to tell them about it.

So instances don't have levels? That's nice to know.

Anyone who plays an ARPG or MMO knows that items drop at or around the level of the area that they are dropped in, or based on the level of the monster dropping it. So the item level is not hidden.

One word: uniques.
More than one word: but there is no information in-game that sockets are somehow related to ilvl. I was fcking frustrated when I found my first Bones of Ullr and later tried to 4s it. Burnt through a fckton of jewellers before realized that something is wrong here, started searching internet - because there is not a single word in the game about ilvl and crafting, and oh well, they were of not enough itemlevel....
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
+1 , would be a nice QoL improvement - has been suggested several times and for a reason.
I would love to see something like this in the item description :"itemlvl=19 max sockets=3"
"Metas rotate all the time, eventually the developers will buff melee"
PoE 2013-2018
also, having the itemlevel displayed in the forums when you link said item, such as in a shop. this way people buying things from a shop, like say a quill rain to build an explosive arrow char for example, wont have to ask the itemlevel to know if they can potentially 6 socket/link said item.
