Link Order Affects Mana Cost?

I recently noticed that if I switch the order of gems in my chest, it changes the displayed mana cost of my attack. Sometimes the mana cost is 17, sometimes it's 18. Can someone explain to me how mana cost is calculated? I thought the order of operations would be unimportant with mana multipliers, but I guess I was wrong.

It's due to rounding I think. Have to get somebody more experienced about this, but rounding can make a difference if I'm not wrong. There's other threads about weird rounding errors, which is what would lead me to conclude this.

I had the same experience on my summoner some months ago. It's indeed probably rounding errors. To minimize the issue, put the highest multiplier at the end of the combo, starting from upper left.

When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch? If the witches watching watches watch the same watch while you watch which witch watches which watch, they switch watches; then, the watch switching witches watch which watch you watch. Watching witches watch watches is not for the faint of heart... |
