If you're still learning you can play ground slam + heavy strike with staves/maces and go http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgEBAecJlhT2JyAnLzSOPfxW2VhjXz9r2YY7jM_BBMbY45_rCe8O9kj_0w== if you're having trouble suriving elemental damage you can just pick up the resist nodes
