Drop down boxes and clickable items not working

I just downloaded the game off of Steam, and I'm having trouble going past the first log in screen where I choose my gateway. I can't get any drop down boxes to show their options and the only way I can get my options screen to show up in the main menu is to minimize the window then maximize it again. I really want to play POE, please help!

Going to try the non-Steam version first and see if I have the same problem.

Try Verifying your Game Files aswell and make sure your drivers are fully updated. Also, let us know if you have managed to play Path of Exile in the past, and how the Standalone Client goes (if you are able to play through this client).
