I knew this all along.

Im not religious at all, but the stories of the bible did not seem to be as paramount as the meaning underlying them as preached by a skilled and benevolent minister.

A holy book is just a tool, only as good as the intentions and wisdom of he whom uses it.

For every soulless money grubbing televangelist, ill wager you can find 5 ministers who actually do more good than harm. Whom comfort the grieving and promote peace.

Would a fully rational and truthful book be any better? In my experience people neither respond to rational discussion nor care about what the truth of situation is(only how it affects them).

For years i searched for deep truths. A thousand revelations. At the very edge...the ability to think itself dissolves away.Thinking in human language is the problem. Any separation from 'the whole truth' is incomplete. My incomplete concepts may add to your 'whole truth', accept it or think about it

Lumping the good in with the bad helps no one.

There are very religious people that truly believe in helping others.

And there are assholes taking advantage of the roll religion should play.

Much like everything else.
having a center and focus not revolving around what your neighbor's dog is doing is probably a good thing for society as a whole. In that way it is a positive opiate of the masses, one that civilization needs in order to be civilized.
Hey...is this thing on?

Well, even the good ones can be bad like "praying" for you to cross over and become religious, since thats what many of em do, not claiming all do though, just a fact that i noticed actually i think once personally.

Funny situation btw, i asked to be unbaptized, the "priest" or whatever its called i talked to said its not possible. O_O
