The Freezer Templar

Hi,

I've seen a lot of fire templars these days, and i watched the build of the week episode of a Duelist with pure cold damage.

It got me thinking, maybe a templar could be more effective with cold damage since it's area has more elemental booster.

My basic idea is Glical hammer + Slpash + Multistrike + Elemeltal poliferation + Cold resistance piercing.

The skilltree i was thinking about looks like this:

Passive skill tree build

As you can see the two most important segments are Life+Chance to freeze nodes.
Fingers of Frost is quite far away so it may be the last thing to pick up.

I was also thinking about picking Eldrich battery since its quite near, but i'm not sure.

Weapon:
1h mace+shild or 2h mace with as much attackspeed as possible.

It was desinged for Harcore players. For softcore, you can have much more damage nodes.

Currently playing HC, lvl 18 (died once at lvl41). It's quite okay now.

Let me know what do you think!

I'll update this post as i hit important milestones.

Your build idea is solid, but keep in mind that if you don't deal enough damage your freeze duration will be too low to effect those mobs that are most dangerous to you.

I would suggest at least adding melee phys to your gem setup.

Dual curse would be very potent with this setup (temp chains+frostbite).

Also, the glacial hammer permafreeze thing can actually work pretty well on a shadow if you want to check that out.

Gear at the moment:

Spoiler

Glacial hammer is linked to Multistrike + Melee splash

I have two problems at the moment:

- Not enough mana (I picked eldrich battery but i need better equipment for that to actually help)
- Not enough dex

Skill tree:
Passive skill tree build
