How many people will be lucky to play this game on aug10th??

As everyone else here I'm hoping to get picked as a closed beta tester. I'm a big fan of Diablo 2 and this game seems just like Diablo 3 should have been like.

10th of August will be a very good day if I get into the beta.

I guess I'll have to trust my luck which is almost none at most times. ;)

It's a random lottery for the most part. Posting almost has nothing to do with being picked.

Where did you hear that from? For the most part, the Alpha testers were chosen because of their forum involvement, some were chosen at random. Has Chris said that CB would be random selections?

I think everybody would concur with that statement; other than those that fear their experience will be ruined for having seen most of PoE's content before release. Really though, these types of games are about replaying content, gathering phat loot and mastering the game play; as well as perfecting one's play style with whatever class(es) they may choose so as to compete against others.

Anyhow, I suppose most everybody that shows interest will get in at one point or another; especially with plans for open beta. The question then points to this question: When?

I'd say initial invites will go out to those that showed an early interest and contribute here on the forum, possibly mixed with or followed by those that have also registered here and at least commented once in awhile, and then those that are only recently rolling in, yet to make their mark.

Essentially though--since they're using the method of making anybody on this website whose registered eligible--it's really just a crap-shoot. I'm sure veterans have the highest probability of getting in first though as they've been here through it all: Supporting this bold endeavor Grinding Gears has taken upon themselves to undertake in making a game world that they and others of a like mind wish to play in, yet expecting nothing in return other than the satisfaction they've provided for their fans.
