[1.2][Beyond]Janno's Poison Arrow Trapper [Lvl 75 map VIDEO]

Hey, I wanted to share my current beyond Poison arrow witch. I'm currently 88 lvl.

I'm currently changing my skill setup a lot and trying to find best way to play.

bandits:
- Normal: life
- Cruel: passive point (kill all)
- Merciless: Passive point (kill all)

Skill gems:

Main skill:
Bow 5L: Poison arrow, trap, Concentrated Effect, Increased area of effect, empower
- you should get quality poison arrow and increased aoe if possible.
- Getting +3 gem bow is one of the most important items you need.

- Here is some viable secondary skill setups
4L: Immortal call, Decoy totem, Cast when damage taken, Enduring cry
4L: Fire trap, multiple traps, increased area of effect, Concentrated Effect
2L: Bear trap, added fire damage
2L: Lightning warp + reduced duration
4L: Desecrate, Increased aoe, trap, conc effect (Thanks Bada_Bing for the idea)

Curses:
1. Vulnerability for damage
2. Temporal chains or enfeeble

Auras:
Grace and clarity (link reduced mana)

Defensive:
Arctic armour

Secondary weapons:
- I have used two different styles here

style 1(movement / defensive):
- 1h sword with + 2.0 attack speed and leap slam + attack speed gem
- defensive shield

style 2(single target damage): (This idea came from Kingdestiny, thanks!)
- Bow chin sol, with 4L: puncture, trap, point blank, physical projectile attack damage
- quiver with defensive stats and physical damage


Leveling:
- I started using poison arrow soon as I got Silverbranch. It gives you +1 bow skills, I used it for +40 lvl and then bought my +2, which currently sells for like 1 chaos.

- If you want to play safe, you should rush to iron reflex and pick health nodes along the way. But I personally prefer taking damage, because it makes leveling more fun.

Tips:

- Buy +6 quality weapon from Haku, it makes leveling empower faster.

Hey I'm really glad to see someone else doing this build. Finally have someone to comment to about it. You actually gave me a few ideas for better survivability. I'm using a very similar build except energy shield based with CI and aura nodes. You made me think actually about toning down the auras from my build and sticking with simple grace,discipline,clarity. I think I'll try to fit them all in with alpha howl and fewer aura nodes.

Some of the questions I have for you is why not take the damage over time nodes right next to you? They effect both fire trap AND poison arrow. Is the increase from it just to negligible to you?

Have you tried puncture traps? I've heard puncture would fit well in a trap for single targets instead of bear trap because we already are getting all the damage over time increases and trap bonus's anyways.

Also what about are options for added chaos damage in fire trap or bear trap? We have a ton of improved chaos already in the skill tree. I feel obligated to make use of it.

I probably plan to refund some of the exit to the ranger tree and optimize that small bit. I don't need projectile damage or speed anymore.

Think it's definitely improved. As always with builds the most obvious choice is not always the right one. I started with ranger but witch is indeed the better start. I could add about 8points extra without the needless ranger area.

Hey thanks for posting a comment, here's some points that I though after reading your post.

- I actually have those damage over time nodes, I just forgot to add them to this tree, thanks for noting that up :D

- If I understand correctly, puncture damage is a lot based on initial hit and since my damage on bow is bad I haven't tested it out, but I might try it out on near future.

- I haven't tested "added chaos damage" gem yet, thanks for the idea, I might do some testing today and report back here.

- I really like the idea of going CI with this build, like you do. I wonder tho why you took those physical damage with bows nodes? Are you using some other skills that uses bow damage?

That's actually a good idea, I'm curious how much damage it really does. That's actually why I chose puncture as a potential skill.

To level I used things like split arrow. It was just easier. I forgot to spec out of them. In my revised start I took them out of the build as you can see. However, if puncture did become and option. The physical damage helps you hit hard.

In fact in your video you actually pick up the best bow imo for testing out puncture. Chin Sol has 100% increased point blank damage. A trap is always point blank because someone has to step on it. That fixes your low initial hit damage. It would be massively supported by the damage over time skills like poison arrow is.

My theory is that you can throw out poison traps with the bow your currently using. As soon as they pop switch over to your secondary chin sol bow and throw out puncture.

Edit: Also don't forget about the potential of culling strike as well. Sadly the culling effect doesn't work properly for poison arrow but it DOES increase the degen on it. There are not many things that increase degen so its important to think about.

Slower projectiles has a higher damage bonus that benefits PA (plus another 10% from quality).
haha. I'm actually leveling slower projectiles right now. I hadn't got to a point of testing it yet. It does indeed effect degen tho? It's strange what effects it and what doesn't.
Hey, I did some testing with puncture and chin sol and its working pretty well. Thanks for the idea Kingdestiny. I updated thread a bit, changelogs can be seen at bottom of the guide.

I'll try to upload some footage soon.

Next I might try out desecrate.
