Elemental pens and auras?

So I have been wondering about this for quite so time and I really really want to know if it will work. For example if i were to use arc with only cold pen (no quality) and have herald of ice active adding cold damage to my attacks and spell, would my arc pen for that damage? Same concept and another goal is to run any elemental damage aura for minions and each of them run that corresponding pen.

Well yes, naturally. :) Arc has Cold Pen, so any Hit with Arc hits against reduced Cold Resist.

But keep in mind that using penetration for just a fraction of your damage isn't very efficient.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
