Hotbar and Weapon Swapping
When you switch weapons, your hotbar switches to an alternate hotbar as well. This seems to imply a desire to make players capable of having one set of skills on one weapon set and a different set of skills on their alternate weapon set. But it doesn't work out so well. Any changes to a hotbar slot appear to affect both hotbars.
Okay, say I want to have Sweep on W when wielding a two-handed mace, but I want Fire Trap to be the skill for W when I switch to my sword and shield alternate weapon set. Assume that Sweep is socketed in my mace and Fire Trap is in my sword. If I'm wielding the mace, setting the W hotkey to use Sweep works fine. When I switch to sword and shield, nothing is in the hotbar slot. So I put Fire Trap into the W slot for the weapon set with the sword. The expected outcome: When I switch back to my mace, Sweep will be the skill in the W hotkey. The actual outcome: When I switch back to my mace, the W hotkey is empty. If I put Sweep back on W for my mace, Fire Trap disappears from W on my S&S set. So trying to put one skill in hotkey W on hotbar A and put a different skill in hotkey W on hotbar B doesn't work. Except in one particular circumstance. When you first put in a gem, the game automatically assigns the skill to an empty hotbar slot. Currently on my character, my hotkey for Right Mouse Button has Heavy Strike for my mace switch and Shield Charge for my sword and shield set. I could never have done this manually. It was achieved because when I put heavy strike on RMB for my mace and then switched weapons, the RMB hotkey was empty (as I described above). When I put my Shield Charge gem into my shield, the game auto-assigned RMB as the hotkey for Shield Charge and didn't remove Heavy Strike from the alternate hotbar. Hopefully that wasn't too confusing (I often find it difficult to explain things to people). One of these two things is a bug, and which one it is depends on whether or not people are supposed to be able to put two different skills on the same hotkey for the main set and alternate set. agreed .... the hotbar isn't cooperating with the weapon swap properly. Ranged weap and melee weap need different set-ups. Poison arrow on my rt mouse for ranged makes dual strike in melee no longer bound to rt mouse and vice versa.

yep this has annoyed me for a while that the keybinds aren't persistent after swaps.

This exact thing has been driving me crazy - the hotbars don't swap properly at all when swapping weapons and trying to keep the skills as different sets. It mixes and matches skills however it wants.

So I'm guessing this bug has no progress, I also noticed that the skill sometimes moves to an 'open' skill slot when swapping weapons.
