Nope.

Wow, I didn't know it is even possible to drop the spirit :) How do you do that?
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

You will drop the spirit if you try to use a mobility skill. Happened to me with whirling blades as well. Typical 'no cheating' clause. ;)
