Masters- why??? or what???

Hallo I am new in this game and since no one really answers me in the global , or at least u never know who is talking to who .. this is why i ask here.
I dont know about this game, startet yesterday, now we have this new patch .. and the masters: What are they good for? Do I have to do the quests who randomly disappear? Thanks for your time! | |
" Do have a look at this Beginner's Guide to Path of Exile, it contains information essential for your stay here in Wraeclast. The Forsaken Masters can appear in any of the instances you enter and give you Missions to complete. Don't worry if you fail any of them though, as a chance will be given should you encounter them again. |
