Level to fast

Hello.
I've watched alot of youtube videos and read tips about leveling and such. There are people who says you should try to keep your level somewhat near monsters levels to avoid getting experience penalties. So is there a risk of leveling to fast? One thing I noticed in playing PoE is that on normal difficulty things are pretty easy and that leveling fast is a reason why. Some thoughts on this? |

I wouldn't say there's really a risk too it. It just won't be as efficient. Unless you're trying to compete with someone though, it doesn't matter much.

" Because you lose XP while being over/under leveled. You should always be max 3 levels under/above the current zone level. That said it is better to skip mobs early on to gain 100% XP in each zone as you level quick first 15 levels. So from the strand just move on to ledge as quick as possible and gain 3 levels on the way skip rest of the mobs. Then just stay about 3 levels under each zone you enter. Thats the most efficient way to level. |

Correction. You can be +-4lvls of the area lvl to gain 100% exp.

" You are correct, there is also a level added for every 16 levels you gain, so if you're level 48 you can be 7 levels higher or lower before getting the XP penalty. |

Pretty much through the entirety of normal, I will only stop to kill rares, blue packs, or white packs of 7+ mobs. Sometimes I slow down and kill more, sometimes I speed up and kill no whites, depending on my level vs zone level. I aim to always be +-2 lvls in order to not get a currency drop penalty either.

act 1 farm ledge and join brutus party. Next proceed normally act 2 proceed normally and after oak join vaal party so you dont need to climb pyramid. Act 3 proceed normally 1st part then take solaris wp, unlock sewers, take
piety party and dash through gardens till you unlock gates, then take dominus party. Same on cruel Can skip dominus on merc |

" The risk that came to mind was that normal would be to easy if I were to level to fast. As I wrote before a ranger I started was lvl 30 beginning of act 3. I couldnt get any higher because then it would mean that I got a experience penalty, right? |

" You don't slow your character's leveling, you skip ahead to higher level zones. If you're level 30 in a lvl 24 zone (for example) It makes more sense to skip those zones and go straight to the lvl 26-34 zones. IGN: OldManBalls (Warbands)
