+1 Gem level corruption chance?

I'd like to find out what is the chance of obtaining +1 gem level by using a Vaal orb on a gem.

Any statistics or educated guess is welcome.

On a side note - why are all +1 corruped empower gems bought out / not being sold in poe.xyz?

Edit oh if you mean gems themselves... Tried 7 lvl 20 PoF's for 21 and no success.

Ah that's interesting...
I always thought getting +1 level on gems was easier than on equipment.

I tried the vaal orb on a couple of lvl 20 gems and so far I had : Nothing (most common), +10% quality (I guess if my gem was 20 quality i'd get a bit more) and -1lvl (that was the most frustrating one).Was lucky that I didn't turn my gems into vaal gem so far wich would have piss me off a lot. I guess the +1 mod is the rarest of all.

Its not that hard to roll.

2 gems got +1, 3 gems became completely unusable, and most others lost quality or weren't changed. Some day RNG will be nice to me and give me a 21/20 Arc to make up for the nice gems it's previously destroyed.

After trying about 30 lioneyes paws I found a pair in the one month and finally got he +1 to gem on it. I have yet to try it for chests and gloves tho. I guess the chance is pretty low but RNG is RNG and you might get lucky on the first try.

For gems I vaaled about 30 20/20 gems(auras/RM just lvl20) and I only got a level 21 frenzy and 21 spectral throw. I did get allot with 23% quality which seems to be more common than level 21(for WED or increased crit DMG it doens't matter tho if its 21 or 23% quality).

About your question on the empower lveel 4 is because its really expensive. 80ex for 1 gem is pretty insane. But then you also gain allot with the gem so I guess it is worth it.

Vaal Arc and Vaal Haste unusable..? Hardly... maybe not the lv20 Arc and Haste you wanted but certainly still usable.

I tried this many Trying for cast speed though or +1...
