How do i fix my loading times

Literally takes me 2 and a half minutes to load a new instance (exit current instance and join new one) even though my entire computer is on a SSD.

Every time i join EXP runs by the time i switch instances my party has already almost finished clearing the new one. I literally spend 2 minutes loading, 1 minute running past 3/4rds of the now nearly cleared instance with 4 quicksilver flasks and BAM time to restart the loading game.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled PoE 3 times and nothing has changed since closed beta.

this is mind blowingly sickening. how DO I LOWER MY LOADING TIME?!?!?!?!

My character can faceroll fellshrine... I literally spend more time in the loading screen than killing .

What SSD do you use?
What is the max size of your SSD?
How full is it?
Have you defragmented the drive? (DON'T do this to an SSD, it makes things slower and reduces their life)
What operating system do you have?
Have you checked for firmware updates on the SSD?
Have you checked the manufacturer for an SSD toolkit? (Software that manages and can clean the drive?
Do you fully shut down and turn your computer on, on at least a daily basis?

Other related questions:

What is your CPU, Motherboard and RAM, or at least the CPU and RAM

Maybe not so related:

Do you have trade channels open? (This is the #1 killer of performance issues in POE, followed by 6 people all with cast on crit GMP)
You can start by running the GGPK Defrag application (linked in the Consolidated Technical sticky post). That compresses the GGPK file (removing the empty wasted space and putting all the file fragments contiguous to prevent multiple reads).

That can help speed up load times a lot. I don't have an SSD and I don't have very slow load times once I get into the game. It takes me a while to get to the login screen, but once I'm in, I generally can change instances in under 10 seconds.

Another large factor is the speed of your hard drive. If you have poor access speeds on the HDD (because of problems, controller issues, or drive speed) then that can bottleneck the loading of data into RAM. SSDs are more instant access than spinning disks because of how they work. It's also a good idea to WELL defragment the HDD (if it is not an SSD).

Finally the last thing you can do if you have enough RAM (12GB or more) is to use a RAMDisk to load the content. It is initially slow populating the RAMDisk, but once it is created, in-game speeds are VERY fast.

It's also a good idea to ask for assistance politely, and to keep your temper and language under control. There is really no need for expletives here.
RAM drives are so nice. Check the sticky post for some cool utilities.
2.5 minutes to load? What homemade SSD are you using? That's slower than a laptop HDD.

Hi guys Its a Macbook air.

Before you go "WTF cAN A ULTRABOOK EVEN RUN POE?!"

the answer is yes i can. I run a fireball/arctic breath CoC build just fine but the loading times are destroying my game experience.

Macbook airs have an i5 in there without any dedicated graphics. The 4th gen i5 is a little better than the earlier ones in graphics, but not much so. It may actually be the lack of dedicated graphics causing the issue.

Depending on your model you may want to check into checking whether you have TRIM support ENABLED. Without it, it can cause an SSD to drop significantly in performance over the course of use.

How full your SSD is also can affect the performance.

Also, being a mac in itself can hurt gaming performance. Are you dual booting and running windows or using one of the other tools to run it?

Tehee, the irony. You're saying it can, but it can't do it sufficiently enough as you're upset with loading times... :P

Nitpick
Macbooks are not ultrabooks, despite having almost all the specifications required to call it an ultrabook. Ultrabooks are a trademarked name that a company can brand their laptop with if it meets a certain number of features and hardware specs specified by the trademark creator, Intel.

Is this just a cut and paste response? Did you even read the original post? Yeah, the OP is upset, but s/he was just upset, not rude nor was any significant use of language displayed. You were rude to even post that despite not even reading the fact that the OP said that s/he is using an SSD. If you're going to respond, it's common courtesy to at least read the post that you're responding to.
ah i edted out the offensive language btw.

I can run the game with decent FPS, and i'm running the fanmade mac client from the forums.

Whatever you said it wasn't offensive enough to actually have offended me; much less you weren't being rude either.

Regardless, I would research to see if your macbook air's SSD is taking advantage of TRIM support.

Otherwise, if you have the room on the SSD, partitioning your drive and installing windows on it and poe on top of that might improve your performance. While I've never run that specific version of poe, I do know that with the same hardware, games get higher performance and framerates in windows vs mac.

Otherwise, without changing your hardware there's not much you can do.
