Mind over matter and Energy Shield

Hello guys :)!!
I have to ask something.
I want to make a char based on Shavronne's Wrappings so that i can hold some auras on life. Ofc the char will be based on ES because the life will be around 120 pt after auras.
I have a question. If i use mind over matter, will i have some problem with my char? I mean. When i take dmg, the 30% goes on mana before going on "life". So, when i go out of mana, the dmg go on ES right?? Or doesn't work?? Because i've read on PoE wiki that MoM doesn't work with Chaos Inoculation. I don't know if using Shavronne's generates something similar..

Doesn't work.

When in doubt take the descriptions verbatim:

When Hit, 30% of Damage is taken from Mana before Life.

Since in this case the damage would be taken from Energy Shield (NOT Life), MoM just would plain not work for you.

Mind Over Matter only triggers if your life is damaged.
This means that if you have ES, MoM won't trigger until it is depleted. Then the low portion of life that's left (after your auras and stuff) will be protected by MoM.

This is why MoM is useless for CI (as lossing your one and only point of life results in death, no matter what).

I'd guess that it goes this way :

- Monster hits you for 2.000 damage
- You have 1.000 ES, which absorbs 1.000 damage (duh)
- Now you start loosing life, which triggers MoM
- You loose 700 life and 300 mana

He wants to make Low-Life character with Shavronne's, NOT CI.
MoM would work just fine
Hope that OP would visit thread one more time...


P.S. (to OP) MoM won't work with CI because you have 1 life, and you can't make 30% damage go to mana and 70% to 1 hp.
Same as aura reservation, you can't "BloodMagic" an aura to reserve 60% of 1 hp.

Your (lack of) knowledge of the game is the problem here.

It doesn't matter if its CI or no CI. CI has no relation to MoM. If the damage goes to his energy shield, MoM will not activate. If it goes to his life, MoM will activate.
