Saffell's Frame Righteous fire build?
Hello my friends, I have just started playing this game a week ago, and Im trying to make a RF build, Marauder, stacking HP regen, fire resistance, HP, etc.
So Im lvl 62, have elemental adaptation +2% fire res, Saffell's frame +4 and purity in fire lvl 11, in total my fire res is capped at 85%, hp total is 2665, HP regen at 299, and my life is still going down, not very fast, but it is, and I wanted it maintained, what should I do next? Can't I run RF with Saffell's Frame? Do I need the Rise of the Phoenix Shield? Thanks, Im really hoping for some insight here because I've tried everything to max my hp regen and max fire res, and nothing works. This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

" Well lets look at it... your burning for 15% of 90% of your life (359) while regenerating 299 which is a deficit of 60. That needs you to either add 60 more regen or 4 more to your max resist (dropping it to 287 burn). So either add regen or max resist at 15 points of regen per 1 max resist till you get the needed amount. The rise of the pheonix shield will just make it a lot easier as it will add that needed 4 max resist over the new saffell's frame (assuming you aren't using a legacy one). If I add max life will my HP regen become more or less deficitary? I have a lot of 8% nodes to fill on the passive tree, but Im afraid of the higher damage also, how can I get more HP regen? I really have no way to get the Phoenix now that I spent all my money on the Saffell's...
Isn't there any other way to increase my max fire res without potions? Anything in the passive tree besides elemental adaptation? Maybe some other item that gives max fire res, isn't there any other item that gives this specific bonus besides rise of the phoenix and saffell's frame? Just increasing max life won't help, as at 85% resist you need 13.5% regen just to break even with how much adding life increases damage taken. You can try the vigor aura or the regen totem to add regen, increasing the level of that purity of fire + taking the aura effect increase nodes, grabbing more regen nodes, grabbing the two max fire resist nodes by marauder skill tree starting point... a few things are possible. If you have more then 13.5% regen then adding max life will aid you of course (your at 11.2% atm, with 8.1% available on the tree).
Without seeing your passive tree its hard to really know... but I will say that possibly remaking your entire tree to grab the needed nodes or pumping that aura up may be a lot more painful then just buying a rise of the phoenix shield probably is. I can't pull it off, tried everything, Im just going to farm, sell the Saffell's frame and try to buy ROF shield.
Thanks anyway Jiero, your thoughts helped me realize exactly what I was doing wrong, maintaining RF without ROF is almost impossible. |

Phoenix is better by far for RF

RF is bad build based on snapshotting bug don't play that.

" Not true at all and RF can be played just fine without snapshotting. Now, as for something actually constructive to the thread that you should try and post... The main issue you're having with RF is that you don't have enough combined FR and life regen to counteract its burn damage. As Jiero pointed out, you need to get more of each before you can make RF work full-time and not degen your life. I honestly wish you had posted your skill tree to try and help you out, but best I can do is offer you some pointers: 1. Get as many life regen nodes as possible. 2. Level up your PoF gem more, or get one that's at a higher level. 3. Get some aura buff nodes to help with amplifying the +max FR resists you get from PoF. Remember, however, that you'll want to avoid the Inner Force cluster UNLESS the percentages allow you to get enough to add an extra % or so of max FR. 4. Run the Vitality aura for extra life regen. 5. If going a life build, you might be able to get away with running the Alpha's Howl helm. Sure, it won't give you any base life, but it does come with +2 to aura gems in it and some reduced aura cost on it, too. |
