Raise Zombie + Added Fire Damage + Ignite = No Ignite

This is the current setup I have. Zombies deal fire damage, and as such, I would expect them to have the ability to proc. Unfortunately, after testing this for awhile it seems ignite does not work with this gem combination.

You realize that chance to ignite is not linked with zombies right? ;)
K well first of all unless I'm missing something that chance to ignite is hooked up only to a minion life support so you have 2 supports hooked up to no active ability. Secondly if you want to ignite enemies using minions I would suggest debuffing with flammability curse and picking up minion instability keystone as I know from personal experience that does work.

I was under the impression, any and all connected gems would interact with each other regardless of how they are positioned. I suppose by what you are saying, the gems will only benefit each other if they are directly adjacently connected?

The problem is, my summon skeleton gloves are not set up like that, all the skills are working together even the summon skeletons gem isnt adjacent to everything, its receiving the bonus from: speed, spell totem, and damage.

your 6 slot chest is not all linked together, it has a 3 link, a 2 link and 1 lone socket, look at it harder

Your first supposition is correct, ALL gems in that chain will work together, it's not just directly next to each other linked. I'm not sure about the Ignite thing not working, if anything, that should go in Bug Reports forums.
Man, your gloves have 4 sochets all linked. Your chest has cluster of 3 sockets linked together, and then 2 other sockets linked.

Your setup in chest is:
1) zombie + minion dmg + added fire = 3 linked gems ( you are casting zombies that do increased dmg, and have additional fire dmg)
2) minion life + chance to ignite = 2 gems linked together, those are 2 support gems, so they dont do anything, they are just sitting there and leveling up.
3) firestorm

@skinnay, Can't believe I missed that, you are right. Part of the armor graphic on the chest piece looks like a slot link connection when you are not paying attentions as much.
