Death and Taxes map - fun

I was lucky and had a D&T uniq map drop recently. I decided to take a try because nowadays my map drop rng stucked at 75's and soo boring to chaining bazaar/necropolis for 0.5%xp with a lvl 93 char. The map is really awesome, 4 phase: fire -> cold -> lightning -> all in one. Its similar to the olmec's sanctum desing. I like these maps becuase its require different gameplay style and strategy. This map is really cool if you get bored with the common maps and want to try something new, and also great for preparing to atziri. Difficulty: I went with my lvl 93 RF marauder, 8.3k hp & 110% IIR. With this build the map wasn't so hard. I wasnt die, but once i lost 7k hp in the cold boss fighting phase. Rewarding: Every phase boss dropped around 10-15 rare and many blue items. (110% iir on my gear) I saw people are selling this map around 2ex in ambush (becuase new). I think the real worth is around 7-12 chaos like the similar uniq maps (temple/maze). Good to know, but i'm curious: how was the 10000% increased xp from boss? Noticeable on 93 level? Thanks

Just finished running this map with my LA archer (4man, no ele flasks, glass cannon build) and just felt i had to post this.
THIS MAP IS AWESOME. The bosses spells are all avoidable with decent reflexes and none of them are an outright oneshot either, so its somewhat forgiving, but still challenging enough to keep you on your toes. The constant stream of collectors (some of which can hit p hard) forced me to kite them around the boss in a circle, while dodging spells at the same time and splitting my dps between the boss and the trash. Awesome stuff. It reminded me quite a bit of my DK tanking days in wow, actually. More of this please! And a big thank you to whoever is responsible for the fight mechanics! |

I'm glad to see you guys enjoyed the map. I'll send a message to Carl and Rory to see if they're ok with me showing some of the discussions we had while they worked on it. It's been a pleasure working with them, GGG is a great group of people.

tried it like a day after it was released.
like the portryal of the boss as the reaper (death) and the animated weapons as "collectors" (taxes) also those ranged animate weapons i dont like the ice boss, is the hardest of the three with undodgeable and most spammable attacks (ice nova) pretty much requiring saphhire flasks. the other 2 has attacks that can be dodged with skill, dont need flasks for those. " creator didnt even get to play it yet lolwtf |
