Chaos Damage Critical Strike effect

Can we get an effect for when Chaos Damage critically strikes? I'd love to see poison arrow put to use in a crit build.

We've got burning, freezing, chilling, shocking, and stunning (although not a crit affect but anyway...).

Let's bring this back to the table in light of all the chaos gear suddenly appearing (Ming's Heart / Darkscorn / etc). I can't help but think GGG is doing something with chaos damage, or else these end-game loots are just more homeless uniques. Hell, even Fairgrave's Tricorn has a niche with Lightning Coil armor...

I'm thinking some sort of stacking debuff would be appropriate. Something opposite of the concept of shock, perhaps? Like the Enfeeble curse that makes mobs attack slower/weaker and significantly easier to hit to negate any sort of accuracy requirement. Or maybe a stacking effect of this that also includes a DoT as a poisoning effect. Adder's Touch tries to do this (albeit poorly), but it has absolutely nothing to do with initial chaos damage the way other status ailments respectively do.

I may be missing some critical mechanics in this suggestion, but in light of the desync issues I feel kiting could use some serious love. This is particularly true for Reavers and other melee crit builds, not to mention making a niche for Darkscorn as a viable end-game bow.
Can't agree. Chaos is not an element but a hard counter for ES... which it ultimately failed because of too many ways for dedicated es users to circumvent it.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Oh, so you don't agree with it because Chaos is a failed counter?
So it's fine this way?
Lol...

Well I'll be honest.
As it stands, chaos is too many things - including poison.

So I think Chaos critical strike effect should be skill specific.
Each skill should have a critical effect dedicated to chaos damage.
That's all.

Of course it isn't fine this way, it did fail, right :)

It's kinda half way currently, it does nothing special but we can have chaos resist in tree and on items, still I doubt making it a full element will help. It could just stay a counter (and shavronnes would lose that crap mod that should never exist) and we could get a fourth element, acid or something, color code: green. We could see some DnD classics, like acid arrow or acid fog, poison spells could use that and so on.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

really late post but i'd like to add that chaos damage serves aswell as a counter to reflect, like the case with LA voltaxic rift users and so on.
Chaos is meant to be a rouge element. The odd one out. Rare but hard to defend against (there is a reason because you get alchemical shard for items with chaos resistance). It has a theme of corruption, decay and madness. So if they give it a status effect, it should be something so nasty that your grandchildren will curse you for starting this thread.
It could work by reversing your life regeneration and flask effects. Imagine getting affected and suddenly your life flasks kill you.
I want one as well.

+1
My little tribute to Diablo 1 aka why Diablo 3 is the worst part of the series.

Chaos Damage Critical Strike Effect; Deal remaining Chaos Damage over time instantly, end current (chaos) damage over time effect.

(Are we talking about plain chaos damage or chaos DoT ticks being able to crit?)

I'd love to see chaos crits cause a DOT, but maybe differ it from burn in that the DOT is a flat but stackable amount.
