Daggers and damage scaling
I recently had a lecture at work where the lecturer said a sentence:
"Rather feel stupid for 10 minutes for asking a stupid question, rather than feel stupid for the rest of your life for not asking at all" I look around the forums and see nice Dagger builds with good DPS numbers. Of course i know they have awesome 400+ dps daggers but i should get at least half of that with my 200ish dagger ?? my build currently has 80% extra physical damage with one handed weapons and 64% extra physical damage with daggers (it will increase) + 20% normal physical damage increase from strength. I am lvl 73 soon but the most i can manage at the moment is a 700 damage per hit flicker and 2,5k double strike (no charges). Crit chance is 48% and crit multi is 248% My dagger: Build

Can anyone explain what the hell i am doing wrong that i have so little damage :) ? Links i use(only have 4l atm, should have 5 link very soon): flicker + multi strike + melee splash + increased critical damage/power charge on crit double strike + multi strike + melee splash + increased critical damage/power charge on crit one option i see is using melee damage on full life, melee physical damage and mybe extra ele damage and added fire/cold damage i have played only spell based characters before this and until 60 i was doing fine. so ty for any responses for my stupid question :) Current gear

Unfortunately I cant look at ur build cause im at work and my phone Is stupid.
But it would help if you linked all ur current gear. Hit chance HP/ES Defenses # of power/frenzy charges Your crit chance and multi sound very low. IGN:Flickfrap

is there anyone who can explain, how to scale Dagger damages high as some build that are posted here ?
Im personally looking about 2 times more phys damage so i can leech from blood rage enough. But buying a 400+dps dagger shouldnt be the only option to double my dps. |

There is nothing really wrong with your build, you just need more levels for skill points.
Namely, you haven't picked up Adder's touch (which will give you 66*1.5=99 more crit mult) and the +50% crit +25 crit mult node near ranger. This should increase damage by about 50%. -You should not get frenzy charges until you have Adder's and the +50% crit chance +25 crit mult near ranger. A 5L will help significantly because you can add in the gem Melee Damage on Full Life for another 50% damage. Together, these will more than double your dps (+125%). Also, I noticed you did not get eye of chayula. It is only 5c or so and will be infinitely useful until you get insane damage/mirrored daggers. | |
Easy way to determine dagger's "quality" for endgame crit build:
AveragePhysicalDamage*AttackSpeed*CritChance="Quality" The resulting value ("Quality") directly affects your DPS, so comparing the value for your dagger with the value for godly dagger like this - - you will know what the difference will be there.
