Bow + block or spell block

So this is my first ranger/bow build. i do have numerous melee/totem/ST/summoner builds, but all of them either use shield or staff

Now that i'm using & i equipped rainbowstride boots (legacy)+ stone lazhwar lapis amulet, i realized 70% of 0 block chance is still 0...
so without using another useless item for ranger build like the anvil amulet (replacing lazhwar) & bringer of rain (useless for bow users), there's no way to get any block chance.. hence no block chance for spells..

Am i missing something?

There is an Invasion only quiver that has some block - but even then you'd be better off with Atziri's Steps as opposed to Rainbowstrides

Phase Acrobatics is about the best we have.

I keep toying with the idea of a sword and board setup for toe to toe fights in the alternate weapon slots.

I'd be interested to hear what other people have tried for weapons and shields, or an alternate dual wield setup.

Yes its a very nice addition & i'm glad to see an equivalent of shield for bow users in game. but armor + block is such a niche build, most bow users tend to prefer evasion/ES.
yes atziri's the only option, although i prefer rainbow's 20% all res.

Try atziri's steps with phase acrobatics :)
but imo, 5 nodes investment for phase acro is not worth it, i have it for now but will respec out of it pretty soon on my ranger.

just bought these max dodge, lets see if it increases my survivability

Well I hope the Atziri's are worth it. It seems such a small amount of block. COuldn't they make it 25%?

its dodge so it works in conjunction with block which is awesome. 16% i think is a good amount cause even without phase acrobatics they are still a straight up 16% spell mitigation for anybody.

yes you have a good point, hence i bought it for addition of spell dodge chance.
but being an end game item, i would expect for full 6 affixes on it. even mana/mana regen/light radius/reduced attribute requirements or something would be fine, so long its 6 affixes -.-
