AMD Radeon 7700 Screen Artifact

Ehm. Yeah. It happens for quite abit when I'm doing other stuff (watching youtubes/vids) while leaving PoE minimized. Only PoE has this artifacts, rest of my screen is normal. Sometimes when this stuff happens, I go into Merc Ledge and try casting some skills, and the notification "Your GPU has stopped working" appears and I freeze/crash PoE. Yup. Happens pretty rarely tho. Any help on this?

Sounds like a graphics card issue to me. Drivers up to date ?
Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

Labyrinth salt farm miner.

Yeah.. that's usually a problem with bad drivers, or a bad card (that is starting to fail).
hmm, its a new card actually. i updated everything. game runs fine max settings. temperature's okay too. What i'm thinking is during the period the gpu is not active(when i'm keeping it minimized), the power allocated to the card becomes lesser than usual, and when i reopen the window, the lack of power somehow contributes to the screwing up of the graphics.

Generally, those types of artifacts comes from video RAM corruption. It cannot render the images properly because the objects it is rendering are corrupted.

Granted there are a lot of things that can cause that, but a "working" card should never do that.
yeap. I was thinking in my case, the ram might have failed to function properly due to lack of power, and thus produce artifacts in the images only in PoE.

I have a 7750HD. I remember getting the "Your GPU stopped working" when I tried the BETA drivers from the ATI website, so I decided to roll back to the regular non-beta driver.

Also on my card the stock heatsink doesn't touch the RAM nor does it have any thermal compound between it and the heatsink. It's off like a quarter of a millimeter and I could slip a piece of paper in between. What I did was I took it apart and added 2 layers of thermal tape over each RAM ICs so that it touches the heatsink and put it back together. It has been working fine since then.

Hmm I should check mine. How did yours survive without touching the heatsink!?!?

I don't know to be honest, I guess I was just lucky. The GPU is on full contact with the heatsink, the RAM as I've found out isn't. It's worth a look though, goodluck.
