poexx is so inaccurate(hardcore, anyways)

Title says all.
I am not sure about the price in default as I play hardcore only. It still considers regrets as 2alch but no one would ever pays 2alch for a regret. Most just trade at a 1:1 or 1:1.5 ratio. No one pays 6alch for a gcp. No one pays 36alch for an exalted at this moment. Heck chaos to alch is not 1 to 2, people only want to sell a chaos for 2 alchs, but they don't want to buy at that ratio because it's not worth it. It misguides a lot of I-follow-the-price-chart-only players, and sometimes results in new players getting taken advantage of. It does not reflect the rate in a fresh economy (first week into league only); Vets or traders know the price and I keep seeing people trying to make a profit by using the chart to mislead new players. Also, the rates should not be 100% fixed, nor should it base on some assumption it bases on. Rates float sometimes, but the chart does not reflect that. EDIT : They should reflect the desired buying ratio and desired selling ratio (which is, in most cases, different. For example, the desired buy-chaos-with-alch rate is 1:1.5, whereas the desired sell rate is 1:2) This can be done by differentiating the rates in upper part with that in the lower part. The fine print does say "The original rates posted here will probably differ significantly with the true hardcore rates. ", but again the NEW PLAYERS or players that are not familiar to market still use that as their bible anyways. Last edited by iota3#1070 on Jan 30, 2013, 5:00:03 PM

I agree, poeex is only useful for tricking idiots into trading at insane rates for your advantage. The website is garbage and I don't get why the numbers are there in their current form. As a general rule most people trade according to what they NEED right now and don't observe any arbitrary ratios.

The economy isnt yet stabilized, you need to understand that in first place. It will be chaos for a moment there and everybody will be confused of whats the real price for x orb.
When the market goes stable, the game get popular, new players will actualy already know how much is what orb since it will be base of the game somewhat. I still trade 2 alch = 2 scouring = reget = chaos Its somewhat obvious to calculate based on the NPC prices and drop rate of them. Last edited by herflik#4390 on Jan 30, 2013, 6:13:05 PM

" I'll be happy to trade a regret for 2alch any day any time in OB because it's a mild gain on my side. Not sure if anyone would wanna do it the other way around (selling me 2alch for my regret). (and yes I did trade 2alch for a regret in CB, where people actually use regrets to do minor respecs) The market is pretty stable, just with a whole lot of newbies unaware of the orbs' value, or some vets trying to rip off the former. The numbers are pretty easy and standard -- however it needs to be updated in a weekly bases as the league just started. I have tried to make "suggestion to modification", but it still uses the wrong rates anyways. Besides the suggestion chart does not allow me to input anything other than gcp/divine/exalted to lower tier currency. Edit : I am implying that the site does not reflect the reality and fail to comply with it. It uses the CB ratio which does not apply in a fresh league environment. The rate it shows now refers to the reasonable ratio 4 if not 8 weeks later. On top of that, it fails to indicate the RANGE of price. (1alch to 8alts and 1alch to 12alts are both reasonable depending on which side is more desperate). This can be improved by just utilizing the whole chart instead of copying upper half to the bottom half. Last edited by iota3#1070 on Jan 30, 2013, 7:17:29 PM
