Advice on Aoe Fire Witch Build Please
I'm still kinda knew at this game but have played alot of games similar to this one.
Would appreciate any and all feedback including tips for skill set ups. I understand build will have to adjust for end game, this is The Build The main ideas behind this build are as so 1. Heavy burn/Fire damage - fireball (lesser multi projectile and pierce) should take advantage of fireballs Aoe on hit, firestorm (aoe range + something else), flammability curse - need to figure out set ups for firestorm and flammability support gems. 2. Mana is low but Regen is Huge (currently i'm at 30 and i can cast all my skills pretty much non-stop) - clarity 3. Crowd control comes in the form of a wall of zombies and skeletons (large health low damage) - minion instability is a must since enemy mobs will have flammability debuff and that should make each zombie do no less than a fireball. - totem with skeletons attached (infinite skeletons as totem will summon over minion limit) - this would act as breach skill for rooms, skeletons start spawning mobs attack them nuke everything from safety. until i get totem i just spawn skeletons into rooms personally, works great. 4. Health/shields....pretty much NONE...plan is don't get hit (my zombies have triple my health at lvl 30 already) day dream for even a second you get killed....but very rare as everything usually dies. The energy shield can usually absorb 1-2 hits so during that time i gotta be out of range. - grabbed a bit energy shield (thinking might need the 30% cooldown node) - still grabbed 32% chaos resist as its most dangerous with its penetrate energy shield Main concerns 1. would investing in huge amount of crit chance be worth it? most skills even with 400% crit chance will only sit at around 20% crit chance? plus multiplier would need to be picked up as well....lots of points (i'm thinking raw damage is smarter move here) 2. just wondering is there anyway to build an "o shit button" like a teleport or bubble since a "o shit moment" with this build = "o shit i'm dead" Thank for all the help :) |

I also have a fire witch... I find that it is very difficult to survive... Atleast compaired to the Marauder, which is MUCH easier...

Well in my opinion witch was mainly meant to be a ranged damage class. We by no means should be Tanks....unless someone figures out how to take advantage of energy shield to the point of it being better that armor at melee range. Would be amazing if there was a skill that would count all intellect like strength so we could build a witch which would use energy shield and melee as its bread and butter. Dragon age had a class like that and it was amazing.

Agreed... But the problem with only fighting at a distance is that you never get the good loot... I guess this could be fixed by increasing the timer a bit...

Any advice appreciated
- I just noticed that i over looked support gem requirements (i would have to pick up both the 2 +30 strength and 2 +30 agility somewhere along the way in order to use spell totem which is a strength support gem and the pierce & lesser multiple projectile for fireball which are both agi. not really an issue since i plan to by pass them in both directions anyways. might trade in some minion damage and some chaos resist or energy shield for them. |

" Well i have never run into a problem like that, usually quick on my feet when yellows drop (but your right that timer is a little to short). I can see where your coming from. I plan to play mostly with a group of people i know so we can all support each other as we progress, this way scrambling for loot is meaningless. |

I think your main glaring issue is survivability. With nothing in life passives at all, and lacking any +str passives, you're looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 650 life (at around lvl 70) without any +'s from equipment.
The real loss though is that those +% to life passives take into account your total life pool from items before adding in their bonuses. So, for instance, you have an item that adds +30 to maximum life, that's taken into account for your maximum life before adding your +% to life bonuses granting just that much more bonus life. Now, playing for other people makes it not that big of a deal to have lower life than normal, but I'd definitely think about scaling back some of your damage dealing stuff for life bonuses. With 10 points, you could have +78% to maximum life, adding 300 to 500 more life to your total depending on your gear. |
