Please ditch Shift-Enter and other chat combinations

Either make:

1) The key-bindings for chat commands Configurable or...
2) Change the current shortcuts or...
3) An option to disable all chat shortcuts involving Shift, Ctrl and the Enter Key being used in some combination.

For the longest time I've been typing and posting a message to have it randomly/accidentally being sent to a Global Chat channel instead of the god damn channel I had previously specifically specified via prefixing a message with either #, $, %, or &. It's annoying having to press Up to repeat the message, then hit Home and then type & or % or whatever to return to the damn channel I intended to be in in the first place (and then having to open chat, move the mouse over the Global Chat button, click it to toggle it back off and then resume gameplay).

I prefix a message with "&" because I want to use the god damn guild chat, please get rid of the fucking command that easily conflicts with what I often do in the game (Attack in place as well as occasionally chat with others).

Yeah. I really hate that. For a while Global would just appear and I'd have no idea why. Thought it was a bug, or maybe possessed and seeking revenge for having been abandoned. Either way, I disabled it for a reason, and don't need to be constantly reminded of the things I willfully ignore :)

This request by the OP needs to be looked at again, by the devs. There's an option in settings to not see global chat, but no way to disable the shortcut in input. Please help end the aggravation of shift-enter and ctrl-enter shortcuts and give us a way to disable it in options. -.-

We're closing in on 3 years since the request was made, I'm losing faith in something being done about this.

I also just now tweaked the original post to further point out that accidentally toggling Global Chat also means I have to immediately follow up my message with opening the chat, taking a hand off the keyboard to use the mouse and then use the mouse to toggle the Global Chat back to an Off state (I have to do this every. single. time that I accidentally toggle global chat via this key shortcut).

It's incredibly frustrating that a fundamental issue with the control scheme of the game that was pointed out over 3 years ago and would require a novice intern programmer a few seconds of typing out some boolean logic code to add a toggle option still remains.

I'm not even asking for you to let me change the keybind or personalize it, just let me turn off the god damn thing. It's incredibly infuriating constantly joining global. Especially because in GGG's infinite wisdom you can't choose a default global chat to always join and so I get thrown in the cesspool of global 1-5 where people are saying the dumbest, most offensive, mind numbing garbage they can think of about politics, religion, etc. I've actually resorted to turning on DND more in the past three weeks than I have my entire time playing PoE (Years), so much so that people who want to buy my stuff probably think I'm price fixing.

The only time I ever join global under any circumstances is to do master rotations (which are stupid) and to occasionally get challenges people are handing out (which I could've soloed 40/40 this League). When I tick off global chat in the options menu it should mean something.

It's simple: Add an option to turn off this hotkey. Or give me a single player mode, you know, that too.

Yeah I have been fat fingering my chats for years too. I'd like more option for customizing or even just disabling these key shortcuts.

In the meantime, what I have been doing and my suggestion for players is to enter a random global channel and when you accidentally type into there you can retype enter, press up, ctrl left arrow key and use the proper channel (party, guild, whatever or just delete the # for local)

Another thing though I find the red text of global to often be too contrasting, so I have to /clear if its a busy day in global after I switch channel.
