Do higher-level monsters give more "absolute XP"?

So I understand that the XP that a monster gives you depends on the level difference of you and the monster, where you would only receive a % of the XP you'd otherwise receive if the difference is high.

But is there also an "absolute" increase in XP as you kill higher-level monsters?

e.g.
lvl 1 killing lvl 1 monster -> give 1 XP
lvl 50 killing lvl 50 monster -> give 100 XP

Yes, higher lvl monsters give significantly more base xp.

In theory that is fine. In practice it is another. I tend to wait until I am 3 levels above the map level to even attempt it. Then again I suck so don't take my view on the matter as anything important.
