90% physical damage reduction through armor
|
Does anyone know how much armor it actually takes to achieve the 90% physical damage reduction, and if its even possible ? Im mostly just curious about the numbers and if anyone has actually tried it themselves.
Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

If my math is correct you need exactly 108 Armour to mitigate 1 incoming physical damage by 90%.
To reduce a hit of 100 damage by 90% you need 10,8k Armour. To reduce a hit of 1000 damage by 90% you need 108k Armour. And so forth. Here's the formula, in case you didn't know: Damage Reduction Factor = Armour / ( Armour + (12 * Damage) ) Last edited by Reizoko#4460 on Mar 12, 2014, 11:09:33 PM

Armor reduction is relative to the amount of damage you take. Forget about getting anything over 10k armor, sht is a waste. I say even over 5k is useless.

" Why? Armour scales linear. |

I wouldn't say high armour is a waste, I had a marauder with very high armour. What I aim for my melee characters is to have enough armour so that the trash hits (especially those chain firing ranged mobs) to bounce off.
The problem if you rely too much on leech to keep you alive is you are prone to evaporating during a desync. Then if only a handful of bosses bend you over physically you can then enfeeble and add in a blind support gem if you are not using a BoR. |
