What is the differce between Normal Gem and Corrupted Gem ?

both have different uses. vaal version of gems are more powerful but you you can only use them only once after killing an certain amount of monsters.

Vaal gem = 1 use or maybe 2 by zone/maps = bigest crap ever... ee wait those vaal orb are crap too...

Well I still know nothing after doing a forum search (found this thread among others)
on what exactly is the difference between corrupted skill gems and regular skill gems.
I can infer some things but lack of detail has me wondering if I should bother keeping any or trying to use the ones I find.

I've been gone from the game over a year now, thought I'd give it a go again and
there are many changes, this is just one.

I tried looking in the Game section on the site about Skill Gems and there was zero
information there, nor the FAQ , both of which I would think would be good places
to place information on these, corrupted skill gems.

So, I'll try and ask here, would someone be good enough to spell out what
they are, and why should I bother with them ? Or is this all spelled out in detail
on a 3rd party wiki I missed?

GG might consider filling in missing info as I'm finding my return less than user friendly
due to all the changes. hah.

Vaal gems requires kills to work. They are amplified versions of the skills they are based on.
Corrupted gems are ordinary gems that have been subjected to a Vaal orb. They can be lvl. 21 or they can reach +23 quality. There are also potentially negative consequences.
