Can't use currency on strongboxes

I keep encountering situations where I am unable to use any currency on a strongbox.

That and the only thing that would change the gold strongboxes it scouring orbs and chaos, possibly exalted orbs.
Works in the same way as modding items except you cant raise the quality or use chromatic since it doesn't have sockets...so really no bug here Ancestral Bond. It doesn't matter what I do, I can't use wisdom scrolls on unid ones, or transmute/alc/chance on white ones
