Any movement speed cap?

Im wondering if there is any cap to the movement speed?

If not then what is about the highest possible speed one could get? If I counted right its about +42% from Passives, and with good shoes and certain uniques I would guess somewhere between +100-150%?

And does the +Movement Speed% Mod from Equip apply only to the basic speed value or to the value adjusted by the passives?#

For exampe: with passives givin +42% and Shoes +20%. Is movement speed then 142% + 20% * 142%= 170.4%
or simply: 142% + 20% = 162% ? I would guess 162...

and btw. I used the search function but didnt really find a topic with "max" or "cap" in the name. Sry if this has been discussed already.
I'd like to know this as well. The other games invisible hardcap left an awful taste in my mouth.
The game does not adapt to you, you adapt to it.
There is no movement speed cap for players that I am aware of, but there are limited methods of obtaining movespeed & all ways that you obtain movespeed are currently increases (not multiplicative).

You can see your movespeed in the character tab to test this out (armour also has a movespeed penalty of up to 8%)

EDIT: Below post is completely wrong

Ill explain it a bit better if you want, let us assume I currently have a 3% movespeed passive, And wearing armour that has a -4% MS penalty (net -1%)

Without using my flask I will have 119% MS (will be displayed as 19% increased MS on the UI)
While using my flask I will have 159% MS (will be displayed as 59% increased MS on the UI)

the %'s that you listed do not 'add together' they times each other,

that's how everything in this game works...

so, let's say you have boots with 30% movement speed and you pick a 'added 4% movement speed' to it, it would be:

30% to start
add a 'added 4% movement' goes like this:

.30 X .04 = .012

so, this total would be 30% plus 1.2% for a total of 31.2% movement speed,

NOT 30% PLUS 4% EQUALS 34%.....the answer is 31.2% movement speed.

everything works like that in this game, it's not adding the totals together.
I guess you're right with what your saying, but your example is not good.
Because in that case the way it's applied would depend on what you get first - and that can't be right.

Dude many things are additive in this game... where you get your info lol?
The game does not adapt to you, you adapt to it.
I am just happy that when I equip items with increased movement speed, I actually move more quickly.
Thread killer.

You should check your character tab sometime. They do add together.

As someone who has taken the 8% movespeed passive and has 20% move speed on hit boots and has taken the passive which removes armor penalties for movement I can very happily say my movement speed increase is... 28%
Thanks Metronomy, my questions are answered. No more questions :)
