Daggers vs claws- socket disadvantage?
I noticed that the daggers so far only have 3 sockets and cannot have more because theyre 3 fields high- but the claws take 4 fields in the inventory. Does that mean that they can have up to 4 sockets? If so, it would be a bad idea to go daggers, is that right?

All 1-handed weapons can have a max of 3 sockets, to keep the balance.
That means, you can either have 3 sockets on you main weapon + 3 on shield/second weapon, or you take a 2-handed weapon, which can have 6 sockets in it. Sorry Exile, but your loot is in another dungeon! IGN: Delirii Last edited by Delirii#1605 on Jan 29, 2013, 8:56:34 AM

how is that balanced? that's a huge advantage for 1 handed weapons, isn't that obvious? if you have 1 attack skill you are spamming then you want the 6 sockets WAY WAY more.
hell, i would take 4 sockets in my main hand and 0 in my off hand over 3 in my main and 3 in my offhand is there something off with my thinking here? |

" 2-handed weapons are more bursty. They have slower attack speed so your DPS is overall better due to 6-socket items and big attack damage but inconsistent, which can be dangerous if you're facing a large mob, but great if you're facing smaller numbers and bosses. Dual Wielding is all about maximizing attack speed to get really consistent damage output. Meanwhile, One-handed + Shield gives you the extra survivability. Balanced system is balanced. |
