Weapon with 20% quality not selling for whetstone

I am in possession of a "Quartz Wand of Dazing", Quality: +20% which will not sell for a whetstone to the vendors.

Could you link the item here? You should be able to click your character's portrait above and then select the item from their inventory to link it in your post for us to see.
Were you selling it in combination with other items? It might have been counted toward a different recipe instead. | |

I would like to add that I have also experienced this issue. I tried selling this item by itself when it was unidentified. Gruest offered 2 Transmutation Shards. Then I identified it and tried selling it by itself again. Gruest offered 1 Wisdom scrap. I was very confused, but for some reason I decided to hold onto the weapon. Also, the weapon dropped with 20% quality from a monster if that makes any difference.

20% Quality Rare and Magic Weapons will not sell for a Blacksmiths Whetstone.
It only applies to Normal (white) weapons. | |

" 20% Quality Rare and Magic Weapons should sell for something better than a Blacksmiths Whetstone... Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.

Well, that explains my problem. It is magical and has +20% quality. Why do they not sell for a whetstone?

Hello,
I would like to continue this thread. When I try to sell the weapon below, all the vendor offers to me are 12 Alteration Shards. I understand, that Whetstones only apply to normal items. And that the offer for magic or rare items should be better. But are 12 Alteration Shards really better than a whetstone? Is this supposed to happen or is this a bug? PS: I manually improved this weapon to 20% and I tried to sell it as a single item at every vendor on CRUEL. Regards |
