Do rapiers scale with dex or strength?

hi, i'm new to the game and can't find the answer to this anywhere. do rapiers scale with dex or strength? by this i mean, will their damage increase if i raise strength, or will their damage increase if i raise dex? I want to play a rapier kind of duelist so I was wondering if i should start by going down the right side or the left side of the skill tree.

I would assume they raise with dex as they require dex to use.

Strength raises physical damage
Dexterity raises accuracy

This is true for all classes.

Are you 100% sure? I just added a 30 dex node and my DPS increased.

Accuracy is included in the tooltip DPS calculation. Dex does not increase damage directly.

yea the mechanics of this game is just that simple, this is because all classes can use all weapons and all spells as long as they have the stats to provide it.

so yea, dex will increase your accuracy, and str will increase your physical melee damage.

so if you want pure damage, go with str, but that wont help much if you cant land your swings.

so make sure you got a good balance in order to get the most out of it all.

also majority of your damage increase are gonna come out of your skills and your modifications on your gear

Because dexterity increases accuracy and if you have more % to hit an enemy your DPS gets increased.
