What is the point of the catacombs level in Act 3???

Can you guys make these extra areas a bit more involved please? Is thee a quest tied to the level? How about a freaking reward at the end of it, its not quite as easy to clear out on higher difficulties and its just crushing to walk to the end and not find anything!!
Incentives and rewards guys, you can't forget those fundamental rules of a fun game. Especially something so griding oriented. Its not just loot drops from corpses you know. "How would you like it if I snuck into your country and did this job over there... and not cash in any of your friggin checks?!! You WONT!! Because you will be right here!!" - Master Shake.

I believe catacombs has increased map drops and maybe increased chance of a large chest.

There is a chance of a large chest in one area.
I think it's more of a buffer between the end of the game and when you start doing maps. Good place to grind for awhile. | |

Don't worry, in Act 4 there will be a passage way leading from it that goes to a giant underground cave system which will be the setting of all of Act 4. You heard it here first, folks.

" It's just as useful as Dread Thicket (Or whatever it's called in Act 2, the zone left of the zone previous to the Act's boss). No point other then a chance of a large chest and maps. Computer specifications:

This is a great farming area in merciless, because it's lvl 67... May be true also for lower difficulties, especially in Hardcore.
