Elemental weakness + Flammability
So a little while ago i posted a thread with the queation how much % the max amount of res can be on a monster and nobody really knows for sure cause i get awnsers between 150-225%. With that in mind its kinda pointless to use those 2 curses right?
20/20 Flammabiliy = -49% 20/20 Ele weakness= -59% Total = -108% So i will be using Fire Penetration = -35% on lvl 20 so the monster resistance is always 40% max. So with that in mind the duel curse i use atm is pointless right? cause with both those curses i cant get there res lower than 40%. These are no facts this is how i think it works. Penetration is still useful against mobs that have highly overcapped resists.
You're right in a sense, but those two curses have uses other than just the resistance aspect. Ignite chance and burning duration (I think?) from quality on the curses is still useful. A comprehensive, easy on the eyes loot filter:

" yeah i answered in your other thread and told you it's 150%max res (225 if in map with map mods) sure, in those cases curses are useless BUT that doesn't mean that every rare mob you will encounter will have those mods on it. a normal rare without double/triple resist will usually have "resist all" innate, so that is 40%res. double curse will bring it down to -15% res, and pen to -50%. so, from doing 95% damage with only pen, with double curse you will be doing 150%, or more than 50% MORE damage. the risk of stumbling upon double/triple res rares always exists with an elemental user, and GGG NEEDS to address that, but in the meantime that doesn't mean that double curse is useless, in fact it's the only way to not do half damage half of the times... |

Almost all my damage comes from burning so i might wanna swap elemental weakness for vulnerability. Im really not sure which one is better for me. Flammability is a must for sure. Ahwell i think i alternate between ele weakness/vulnerability depending on the map mods. |

I thought I read in the past that there's no cap on negative resists, so even if a mob has 0, you can get him to like -100 for 100% increased damage. Is that false?
Besides, don't curses have only half effect on rares and bosses, so instead of -49% you'd only get -24% from Flammability? Shop closed until further notice. Check out my Dominus musical tribute instead:
