Question regarding flameblast
|
Hi all,
I'm considering making a flameblast build, and i have a question. This skill is noted as spell, fire. So any nodes from skill tree defined as "increases x% spell damage" and "increases x% fire damage" will have exactly the same effect in flameblast's damage, is that correct? I mean if i get 25% spell damage, would that be the same with 25% fire damage? Thanks in advance for your help! |

Yes.
If Flameblast is your primary skill, Increased Fire Damage might be better. When you ignite something, the burn damage will also be increased. Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN>

I think ignite puts enemy in a degenerating status (burning), so won't it get increased only through burning damage nodes or increase damage over time?
Thx for your help though |

Area of Effect support gem with increase burn damage and elemental damage.

I am going for a flameblast, pure ignite build actually. I am wondering if spell damage does any good for skill instead of fire damage, because i would like to start with a witch who has tree strating area filled with spell damage increase.
Pretty dumb question, i think increase spell damage = increase fire damage, when we talk about fire spells, just wanna make sure :P |

" That used to be the case, but since the DoT patch (1.0.2) 'increased Fire damage' now applies to both the hit and the burn damage (should you ignite). It's the most effective buff for Flameblast. Spell damage will increase the damage dealt by the hit, giving you a bigger burn, but won't double dip in the same way as increased Fire damage. We tested it extensively

Go for the fire damage first, then the spell damage. I use flameblast on my fire templar to great effect, youll love the skill.
