do they do anything besides follow u around, there should be some that pick up drops u miss... or can change which drops it picks up

Pets- like everything in the cash shop- are for decoration only. ;) They do nothing except look cute and make little noises.

Pets are just cosmetic. They don't help you in any way. GGG is very against having anything in their shop as P2W. Having a pet that picks up items for you gives you an edge.
All the things I want to remember are in the places I'd like to forget.

They just follow you around. Otherwise it would be p2w.

Anything which gives you a gameplay advantage (such as not having to spend as much time picking stuff up) is P2W to a smaller or larger extent, so no. Pets are just pets.

Oh god yes- as a dedicated solo player, I'd be lost without my Kiwi. >_> He gives very good advice when I'm playing, too (ie- he runs away from monsters.)
