best ways to get/sustain power charges
hi guys i am wondering what the best ways are to gather and sustain power charges (excluding that PCOC chest)
currently i use flicker strike with increased chrit chance and power charge OC (since i have blood rage running all the time anyway), i am looking for a more efficient way to do that tho. i was thinking of using a totem with PCOC, ice spear and LMP, or maybe i use COC with icespear.. im a spectral throw scion btw. thanks |

Blue PCoC gem, Voll's Protector chest or Romira's Banquet ring.
Also, Ice Spear has high crit, so any combination with that skill will work as long as you spec into a decent amount of passive crit. Last edited by Aleteh#2534 on Jan 31, 2014, 10:40:17 AM

Unfortunately, there are no really good ways to do that outside of those mentioned.
Power siphon can do it too. I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all. Last edited by Crackmonster#7709 on Jan 31, 2014, 10:46:06 AM

The totem with PCoC won't give you power charges.
You should be able to do well with the PCoC on your flicker, but you can also run some Ice Spear + LMP(GMP) + PCoC or if you want to dedicate a 5L to it Spectral Throw + GMP + Cast on Crit + PCoC + Ice Spear. (GGGBB) Theorycrafter/Build Creator for PORTAL guild

You're not providing valuable information.
1) weapon and it's base crit chance 2) do you want to only use ST for PC, or another skill for building/sustaining them? If the latter, only ST or spells/melee skills aswell? 3) for PCoC: how many links has your best weapon/chest? For Voll's we need to know what kind of defense you're using, and how you sustain your skills: mana, bloodmagic, bloodmagic gem? Mana Leech or Regeneration? For the first also matter if you are phys based or ele based. Generally, it's most "efficient" to use your main skills + PCoC overall, voll's or secondary skill + PCoC if you don't suffer from the drawbacks and Romira's if you have a very low base crit chance and want to use them for something else, for example cooldowns/spelldamage. PCoC building PCs with a secondary skill isn't very efficient when you're below 40% crit chance without PCs, especially when you don't have a 20/20 PCoC (or at least 15/15 roughly). You'll just waste way too much time building charges and not doing damage. It's even less efficient when you're generally ranged and have to go melee to build PCs, as this'll also affect your other gear, positioning and playstyle. " if i used it on my 5l i wouldnt need the ice spear:P with flicker stricke i have 40% crit chance atm, and a 50% chance to get a power charge on crit, so i only have a 20% chance to get a power charge on a flicker strike (i could get it to like 25% if i had a quality flicker strike, but i wont invest in that unless i am certain this is the most efficient way) i dont want to use PCOC on my 5l, because if i find a way to stack my power charges and run increased crit multiplier my dps just skyrockets what do you think of using cast on crit with ice spear, and pcoc on crit? |

" my current build: trying to color my alphas so i can run anger+wrath with reduced mana my base crit chance is 36% and my multiplier is 375, 2,67 AS the plan is to gather power charges to profit more from the crit multiplier gem i am using in my 5l Last edited by Goobey#5029 on Jan 31, 2014, 11:06:21 AM

Another option is to use CwDT lvl 1, Ice Spear, and PCoC
It's not good for building PCs up, but will make it a lot easier to sustain them. |

Having a dagger with a higher base crit would help a lot. Generally speaking, for crit builds base crit >>> base damage.
Personally, i'd say screw PCoC for the moment and come back to it once you have a ~14/20 PCoC and at least a 8% base crit dagger. You'll waste a lot of time building/sustaining PCs, and i'd assume that your effort using PCs will overall lower your DPS. PCs are mostly to squeeze the most out of a very powerful build that couldn't be boosted in other ways anymore. You're not at that point with your gear yet.
