First thread - First question - Skill gems

Yo guys and girl.
Awesome game, awesome awesome indeed :D
I have a few questions regarding skill gems.

Im currently a lvl 27 frost specced witch.
I have seen on streams and in trade chat about these gems:
Cold Penetration
Chain
Multiple Projectiles
Totem

I would rly RLY like to get my hands on these.

So question:

The gems you get from questing, are the rewarded gems given randomly or fixed ergo are some just given later in the game?
I have been on the lookout for the gems above now for every quest,but still no luck.

When can I expect to get them from a quest, if the awards are fixed?

The reward choices are fixed and some skills are not available for some classes - for instance, Witches don't get multiple projectiles at all (so you have to roll an alt or trade for it).

just to clear something up

as far as I can tell, all gems can be dropped by mobs, I havnt seen any post saying otherwise, nor does the wiki or the site say anything about any gems that can not drop from a mob

but in terms of quest rewards, they are fixed based on your class choice. so when the above says that some classes do not get certain skills, I would assume he means from quests.
